When I first entered college, I was struggling with anxiety and depression, feeling lost and alone in a new environment. Everything changed when I discovered the eSports club on campus through connections my parents made with friends. Being part of the club not only gave me a sense of belonging and purpose, but it also helped me to see things from a different perspective. I found a community of like-minded individuals who shared my passion for gaming, and together we formed strong friendships and support systems. Through the club, I was able to channel my energy into something positive and productive, and it ultimately helped me manage my mental health struggles. The eSports Club became a safe space for me to escape from the pressures of college and connect with others who understood and accepted me for who I am. It was a turning point that transformed my college experience for the better.

FSC Esports

Society often speaks negatively about video games and esports, labeling them as a waste of time or promoting a sedentary lifestyle. The club has not only fostered my love for esports but also opened doors to potential career paths in multiple industries. It has been a place where I can be myself and feel supported, despite the negative stereotypes surrounding gaming. However, I have found a sense of community and personal growth through my involvement in a gaming club. This club has provided me with numerous opportunities to flourish, both personally and professionally.

Through participating in tournaments and events, I have developed valuable skills such as teamwork, leadership, and strategic thinking. Additionally, I have made meaningful connections with like-minded individuals who share my passion for gaming. It has given me opportunities to grow and flourish, like being allowed to be on committees where I could show off my skills and hone them even more. Or, taking a big step to conquer some of my problems, I ran for club officer positions to ultimately make the club better for future generations.

I am so grateful for everything that the club has done for me. From the support and encouragement to the opportunities to grow and improve, I have truly felt like a valued member of this community. The friendships I have made and the experiences I have had will stay with me for a lifetime. This club has been more than just a place to play; it has been a home and a family. I am proud to have been a part of it and will always cherish the memories and lessons learned.
